What is All Star Cheer & Dance?

All Star Cheer & Dance is a year round sport (yes, we said SPORT) for athletes of all ages.  It's one of the fastest growing sports in the World. While it was born in the US, there are All Star Teams in many other countries including China, Australia and England. Boys and Girls across the country participate in cheerleading competitions where squads perform 2 1/2 minute routines that combine tumbling, stunting, dance and gymnastics.  This sport is much like club baseball, or studio dance, where athletes practice with a specially formed team. Teams practice year round and competitions run January through April.

All Star Cheerleading has been established in the South and Eastern US for years, and is quickly growing in the Northwest, with over 100 teams in Washington alone. Build It Athletix All Star Teams will compete at 4 - 6 Local competitions in the Spokane area, and Seattle, as well as a National Competition in Portland, OR. While this level requires a high level of commitment of the families involved (mandatory practices, uniform costs, travel and competition costs) you'll find this sport teaches athletes the value of commitment, teamwork, dedication, hard work, and setting goals.

High School vs. All-Star... can you do both? ABSOLUTELY!

It has been a long battle nationwide... Schools and All Star Programs fighting over kids. It is a very silly battle that stops here! We don't need to fight over kids, or force them to choose between the two. It starts with coaches. Coaches need to pull together and encourage kids to do both; promoting growth in the athlete, and both programs the cheerleaders are involved in! If your coach will work with us, we are more than willing to work with them!

Build It Athletix strongly supports athletes having a great high school experience; that means participating in ASB, Gymnastics, School Cheerleading, AP Classes, and any other activities our members strive to be apart of! Our event dates will try to avoid as many high school event dates as possible so that athletes can get the best of both worlds!

Want local proof that it can work? South Elite All-Stars and Kentwood High School on the West side of Washington are a great example! On a competitive level, South Elite All-Stars were crowned World Champions All Stars, and Kentwood took 6th at UCA Nationals, the nation's most prestigious High School National Championships! The same type of partnership is set up with Galaxy All-Stars and Redmond High School. All four programs were 2008 Washington State Champions in their divisions!
